Across PG: What I'm Hearing

Since filing to represent District 3 on the City Council, I’ve enjoyed spending time with so many people who know and love our city.

It’s been a real pleasure to hear from residents, business owners, civic leaders, volunteers, and young people who feel strongly connected to Pacific Grove and have great ideas about what comes next.

One highlight was meeting members of the BreakerBots, our youth robotics club.

Their curiosity and enthusiasm are infectious!

I'm so inspired as their talent and creativity take shape right here in Pacific Grove.

A Community That Shows Up

I’ve also seen how committed people are to Pacific Grove and one another.

We have so many exceptional volunteer groups and engaged residents who are strengthening our community.

It’s part of what makes Pacific Grove so special.

I look forward to helping nurture the connections that will carry our city forward.

More Ways to Participate

Several people also shared their interest in expanding the conversation about the choices shaping Pacific Grove.

Our community is filled with people who bring valuable experience and local knowledge.

Many already contribute through city commissions and nonprofit boards.

Others serve through small businesses, community organizations, and neighborhood efforts.

I embrace opportunities for residents to share their perspectives and take part in Pacific Grove’s civic life.

Supporting Local Businesses

Local businesses are also a crucial part of the everyday fabric of Pacific Grove.

They give us places to gather and make our neighborhoods distinctive.

They also provide jobs and give generously to local causes.

A thriving local economy is one of my top priorities, and I’d love to hear from you about ideas for making it easier for neighbors to serve neighbors in our community, including along our Central Avenue business corridor that welcomes so many visitors to our city.

Housing Affordability

Housing affordability has long been one of our city’s top concerns. It’s highlighted in survey after survey.

A core question is this: How can Pacific Grove remain a place where longtime residents can stay, younger families can put down roots, and new arrivals feel welcomed?

That means exploring practical ways to expand housing choices and make thoughtful use of the spaces we already have.

We can also create more attainable paths to renting or owning a home.

There’s room for people at every stage of life to find a home and a sense of belonging here.

Streets and Sidewalks

Residents have also talked about the everyday places and services that shape life in Pacific Grove.

Well-maintained streets and accessible sidewalks help people of all ages and abilities move safely through town.

Inviting parks and public facilities give neighbors places to spend time together.

Caring for these shared spaces helps everyone participate more fully in community life and would be among my top priorities as a council member.
