Pacific Grove is Now Voting by District

November 2026 marks the first time that PG voters will elect councilmembers by district.
The map & election schedule
On March 5, 2025, the City Council adopted a six-district map, known during the process as Map 101.
The Council favored this map because it:
Closely follows PG Unified School District boundaries
Keeps neighborhoods intact
Creates three coastal districts
The transition is happening in two phases:
2026: Districts 1, 3 and 5 elect councilmembers, and voters citywide elect the mayor.
2028: Districts 2, 4, and 6 elect councilmembers.
Going forward, candidates must live in the district they seek to represent.
District 3
Our district borders are:
David Avenue, from the bay to Carmel Ave
Carmel Ave, from David Ave to Lighthouse Ave
12th St, from Lighthouse Ave to the bay
Along the bay, from 12th St to the Aquarium.
According to Monterey County Now, no council member has lived in this part of the city in recent history, even as major decisions shaped it, including the future of the American Tin Cannery site.
