Sep 22: BlueTech Nexus
BlueTech nexus is an exciting idea, and I look forward to hearing more.

BlueTech Nexus brings researchers together with industry, investors, and technologists to help move maritime and autonomy technologies developed at Naval Postgraduate School, Hopkins Marine Station, and other regional institutions from the lab toward licensing and commercialization.
The economic impact of marine science in the region is already substantial.
In 2006, a Center for the Blue Economy study found more than 1,700 employees and $209 million in annual budgets among Monterey Bay marine research and education institutions in 2006.
By 2014, according to a NOAA report, this had increased to more than 2,300 staff and researchers across roughly 25 marine science institutions, with combined annual budgets exceeding $315 million.
BlueTech Nexus offers a way to build on that extraordinary research base by connecting more of the science and technology developed right here in PG and surrounding communities to investment, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity here on the Central Coast.
